UK combustion vehicle sales fell 18% year on year in January as plug-in electric vehicles took almost 6% of the market, up from 2.2% a year ago. Diesel sales were hit particularly hard, selling 36% less volume than January 2019. The United Kingdom (not so united these days, but that’s another story) is becoming a hot electric vehicle market, but it gets very little attention in the EV world. I’m going to postulate that’s because people drive on the wrong side of the road there. (Just sayin’.)

Apparently, the UK’s SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders) can’t be bothered to input the Tesla Model 3’s name into their model database. Despite being the 3rd best selling passenger vehicle in the country last month, the Model 3 goes by the name/label “Other” in the top 10 ranking. I guess “no emissions” means you get no name
