The Immigration Levels Plan contains a details of admissions in several categories. What is somewhat remarkable is that not only will the overall admissions from 2025-2026 remain the same, but the planned admissions in each category will as well, which could likely mean difficulties for many temporary residents as well as application backlogs.

On December 15, 2022, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) updated its Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) exemption codes. An LMIA is an opinion from Service Canada that the entry of a foreign worker will have a positive or neutral impact on the Canadian labour market.
