Vistra’s Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant is a two-unit, 2,400-MW nuclear facility with pressurized water reactors (PWRs) located near Glen Rose in Somervell County, Texas. Built by Luminant with reactors supplied by Westinghouse and operational since 1990, Vistra received Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) approval in July 2024 to extend the plant’s operation through 2053, adding 20 years beyond its original licenses.
