B.C.’s transportation industry is responsible for more than a third of B.C.’s total greenhouse emissions. A new report from UVic finds that to electrify the industry, B.C. will need to produce 60 per cent more electricity, but that could be cost effective if the province relies on renewable sources such as hydro, solar, and wind power.
