Canadian Nuclear Laboratories has been working on the development of hydrogen and energy storage technologies for some time. One method under investigation is the copper–chlorine cycle, a process involving several steps to produce hydrogen and oxygen from water. Potentially, it could reduce production costs and decrease the environmental impacts.
