Over 200 police deployed for Asia-Pacific disaster mitigation conference
MANILA, Philippines — The Southern Police District (SPD) has deployed over 200 personnel to ensure public safety during the 2024 Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR), which opens on Monday, October 14. The conference, which will run until October 18, is themed “Surge to 2030: Enhancing ambition in Asia-Pacific to accelerate disaster risk reduction.” It aims to provide a critical platform for reviewing risk reduction efforts, exploring innovative solutions, and making commitments to minimize disaster risks by 2030 in one of the world’s most disaster-prone regions.
