Neri Colmenares urged the House of Representatives quad committee on Thursday to look into the cases of more victims of the Duterte administration’s war on drugs.  Colmenares said the move could lead to more witnesses who could testify before the panel investigating the alleged drug-related extra-judicial killings (EJK). Seniors in Manila to get doubled annual allowance starting 2025


MANILA, Philippines — Senior citizens in Manila will have their yearly allowance doubled starting next year, Mayor Honey Lacuna announced in a statement issued on Thursday. UN report says 1.1 billion people in acute poverty


UNITED NATIONS — More than one billion people are living in acute poverty across the globe, a UN Development Program report said Thursday, with children accounting for over half of those affected. The paper published with the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI) highlighted that poverty rates were three times higher in countries at war, as 2023 saw the most conflicts around the world since the Second World War.
