MANILA, Philippines—Every 10 minutes in 2023, a woman or girl lost her life at the hands of an intimate partner or family member — a chilling reminder of the unrelenting violence women face worldwide. Femicide, or feminicide in some cases, refers to the intentional killing of a woman or girl because of their gender.
