UPDATE: Chris Tiu formally retires from PBA

CHRIS Tiu of Rain or Shine formally retired from the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

Tiu, 33, a former national player who also shone during his collegiate days at the Ateneo de Manila University ended his six seasons in the pro league to give more time to his family and business.

“My heartfelt gratitude to every person who has been part of my basketball journey!! Most especially to our Lord who makes all things possible. It is now time to move on. My heart is full. #17 signing off,” Tiu posted on his official twitter account on Tuesday.

Tiu was the Elasto Painters’ seventh overall pick in the 2012 Rookie Draft and was part of Rain or Shine’s 2016 Commissioner’s Cup championship run.

He was also the team captain of the Sinag Pilipinas basketball squad that won the gold in the 2011 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games). LIEZELLE ROY
