Duterte blasts priest who was jailed for hitting girl

MANILA, Philippines —President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday blasted a priest in Cebu who has been jailed for allegedly hitting a cook’s teenage daughter.
“‘Yan sa newspaper ngayon, may binugbog ‘yung pari na batang-bata. Binugbog niya kasi hindi niya pinakain yung aso niyang labrador. ‘Yung bata, anak ng cook ng pari,” Duterte said during a speech in Kidapawan City, Cotabato.
“Kita mo ‘tong mga gag**g ito? Para talagang mga Espanyol (style) ang mga ulol,” he added.
Duterte was referring to Rev. Fr. Decoroso Olmilla of The Nativity of Mary Parish at Barangay Canduman Cebu City who was arrested and detained at the police station after allegedly hitting a 15-year-old girl with a box and kicking her.
The girl allegedly failed to feed the priest’s pet Labrador.

In the same speech, Duterte also renewed his tirades against the Catholic Church’s belief and teachings.
He insisted that there is only one God and dividing Him to three is “silly,” apparently referring to the Christian’s Holy Trinity.
