LOOK: Bong Go is guest of honor at 1st National Drug Abuse Council Awarding

MANILA, Philippines — Former Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Bong Go on Friday was the guest of honor at the first National Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) awarding at the Manila Hotel.

Go was considered resigned from his as SAP after filing his certificate of candidacy to seek a Senate seat in the 2019 midterm polls.

But at the ADAC event, Go was introduced as “Special Assistant for the People.”

At the event, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) recognized local government units (LGUs) who exemplified in complementing the national government’s campaign against illegal drugs.

The National ADAC Performance Award recognizes provincial, city, or municipal ADACs who have performed their duties and responsibilities in planning and implementing their anti-illegal drug programs, projects, and activities.

The DILG, through the ADAC Project Management Office, concluded the 2017 ADAC Performance Audit. The audit was aimed to gather data on the ADAC functionality and effectiveness.

A total of 21 LGUs, 21 provinces, 17 Highly Urbanized Cities/ Independent Component Cities, 15 component cities and 165 municipalities will be receiving the award. /muf
