Taking construction to the next level
Since its first expansion in 2013, The Philippine Constructors Association Inc. (PhilConstruct) has been experiencing steady demand for exhibit space not only from local suppliers but most especially from international brands looking to penetrate the Philippine market.
To celebrate its 29th year, the organizers of the country’s leading construction trade event will showcase an even bigger exhibit scheduled from November 8 to 11 at the World Trade Center and SMX Convention Center Manila.
Gerardo Pancho, first vice president of the Philippine Constructors Association and the overall chairman of this year’s PhilConstruct shared the plans for this year’s exhibit: “We are converting the entire front parking lot of the World Trade Center into an exhibition hall, adding as much as 3,000 square meters more of indoor exhibition space for the show.” With this new hall, the event is able to present an even wider showcase of building materials, construction equipment, fixtures and finishing solutions, as well as related services from 23 different countries.
“The event will be a great venue for stakeholders from both the government and the private sector to see how these products and technologies from other countries can be used to further improve and strengthen the country’s various structures and infrastructures,” Pancho added.
Every year, more than 70,000 architects, engineers, interior designers, government representatives, and other professionals from the industry visit PhilConstruct. Morris Agoncillo, president of PCA shared his excitement:
“[T]hese are very exciting times for the industry. With the government’s aggressive pursuit of infrastructure development through the Build, Build, Build program as well as the private sector’s drive to produce globally competitive projects, there are plenty of opportunities for both local and international suppliers to grow their business here. Our goal in PCA is to provide a venue where they can easily explore these opportunities and for close to three decades now, PhilConstruct has been that platform.”
Aside from the Philippines, countries like China, Germany, Italy, India, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Vietnam and the United States, and the European Union will be represented. More than 1,500 companies in total are slated to be part of the showcase, headlined by its co-presenter Pacific Paint (Boysen) Philippines Inc.
“We expect this synergy between these stakeholders to help bring the practice of construction here in the Philippines to the next level. PCA has always believed in the importance of cooperation and collaboration in driving growth for the industry. PhilConstruct presents the perfect opportunity to do this. We have experts and manufacturers from different countries who are very excited to be here in the Philippines to introduce their innovations and also meet local architects, engineers, interior designers, government representatives, and other professionals from the industry to share their knowledge as well as explore possible areas of partnership. We expect this synergy between these stakeholders to help bring the practice of construction here in the Philippines to the next level,” Pancho concluded.
