2 more police chiefs sacked after Sunday Cotabato blasts
Philippine National Police Director General Oscar Albayalde has ordered the relief of two police officials following a pair of explosions in Mindanao on Sunday.
Ordered relieved were Chief Insp. Patrich Elma, commander of police Station 2 in General Santos City, and Supt. Samuel Cadungon, chief of Midsayap town police station.
Elma had jurisdication over the blast site, a pharmacy near Hadano Park on the national highway. The explosion injured seven people, including a six-year-old girl.
Cadungon had jurisdiction over the area where a video house in Barangay Poblacion was attacked on Sunday. No one was reported injured in the blast.
Albayalde told reporters at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City, that the victims were already “out of danger.”
Elma was replaced by Senior Insp. Davis V. Dulawan. Supt. Joan M. Maganto took over from Cadungon. —JAYMEE T. GAMIL
