Nancy Binay’s advice to Trillanes: This too shall pass

Senator Nancy Binay had this friendly advice to beleaguered Senator Antonio Trillanes IV: “This too shall pass.”

“From somebody na pinagdaanan ‘yung ganyan, pagdaanan lang. Lilipas din ‘yan,” Binay said in an interview at the Senate on Tuesday.

(From somebody who has gone through that, I say just go through it. This too shall pass.)

Trillanes is now facing arrest after President Rodrigo Duterte issued a proclamation revoking the amnesty granted to him by former President Benigno Aquino III.

It is during these difficult times, she said, that a person would know his true friends.

“‘Yung positive dun is dun mo malalaman kung sino ‘yung kaya mong asahan,” Binay said.

(The positive thing that would come out of this is you’ll find out who you can trust.)

“Always look at the positive,” the senator added.

Binay and Trillanes had long been at odds until recently where they both decided to bury the hatchet. /je
