UPDATE: Saso, women’s golf team make it 3 golds for PH in Asian Games
THE Philippine women’s golf team, led by Yuka Saso, snared two more gold medals at the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia by winning the individual and team competitions at the Pondok Indha Golf and Country Club in Jakarta on Sunday.
Saso and the women’s team composed of Saso, Bianca Pagdanganan and Lois Kaye Go followed the feat of Hidilyn Diaz, who bagged the country’s first gold in weightlifting.
With an overall score of 13 under and a total score of 275 points, Saso, 17, came from behind to beat Liu Wenbo.
Saso was tied for second with China’s Du Mohan.
Pagdanganan took the bronze medal behind Liu, along with Japan’s Ayaka Furue, both with an overall score of 9 under.
Saso, Pangdanganan, and Lois Kaye Go then teamed up to beat South Korea and China for the gold with an overall score of 22 under.
