House suspends work, session but hearings continue
THE House of Representatives suspended work, including its 3 p.m. session on Monday, because of bad weather but committee hearings will continue, according to Len Bautista-Horn, Speaker Gloria Arroyo’s chief of staff.
The energy committee is discussing pending measures institutionalizing energy efficiency and conservation, enhancing efficient, granting incentives to energy efficiency and conservation projects.
The games and amusements panel will tackle a resolution investigating the proliferation of online cockfighting and a pending measure strengthening the role of the Games and Amusement Board in the operation of cockfighting in the Philippines.
The House is also expected to approve on third and final reading the Rice Tariffication bill, a priority measure of the Duterte administration, which will allow unlimited entry of imported rice to bring down prices. LLANESCA T. PANTI
