2 die in Manila antidrug ops on Sunday
Two alleged drug traffickers were killed within hours of each other in separate buy-bust operations in Manila early Sunday.
Suspect Arvie Garcia was shot dead after allegedly engaging lawmen in a fire fight in Tondo.
Police said Garcia sensed that he was dealing with an undercover policemen during a buy bust operation at Building 4, Happy Land, Barangay 105, Tondo, Manila, when he pulled out a gun at about 4:30 a.m.
The Manila Police District (MPD) said Garcia was on the police watchlist and had a pending case for robbery dated Oct. 25, 2017.
Found near the suspect’s body were one revolver, marked money worth P300, and a number of sachets of suspected shabu.
Three hours earlier, 44-year old Darwin Nazardo was also killed in a buy-bust operation.
Police said Nazardo was also included on the drug watchlist. No related cases were found against Nazardo.
