Pacquiao ‘thankful’ for Tax Court order stopping seizure of assets
Senator Manny Pacquiao is thankful that the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) has ordered the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to stop the seizure of his assets to collect P3.29 billion in alleged tax deficiencies.
“Nagpapasalamat tayo sa mga naging resulta. Wala naman tayong ikinababahala dahil nagbabayad naman tayo,” he told DWIZ on Saturday.
(We are thankful for the results. We are not worries about anything since we pay taxes.)
The CTA has ruled that the BIR violated rules in implementing its final decision on disputed assessment in May 2013 for alleged deficiency of tax liabilities of Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee in 2008 and 2009.

Pacquiao said the BIR’s decision was “political harassment” on him and his family.
The CTA said it also found no sufficient evidence established by the BIR during its investigation.
“Kita naman yung mga papers namin, at yung binabasehan lang ni Kim Henares noon ay yung balita, tapos wala silang hawak na dokumento magpapatunay,” he said.
(It’s evident in our papers, and Kim Henares only based news sources before and they don’t have any document that will prove it.)
“God is good na lumabas yung katotohanan (that the truth prevailed),” added Pacquiao.
Pacquiao also said he will not be filing charges against officials of the BIR who had accused him of tax evasion. /muf
