Insurance agent nabbed in Quezon buy bust
LUCENA CITY – A life insurance agent who allegedly turned to selling shabu, was arrested by police in a buy bust operation in Sariaya town in Quezon province on Tuesday night.
Supt. Rafael Torres, Sariaya police chief, said a local drug enforcement team nabbed Myrla Portales after she sold shabu to an undercover police officer during the bust in Barangay (village) Gibanga at around 7:45 p.m.
Police said the suspect is a resident of Lucena City and is working as a “financial adviser” for a life insurance company.
Seized from Portales was one sachet, which is suspected to contain five grams of shabu with a street value of P24,900. Also seized was the marked cash used in the bust.
