All in a night’s work: 90 sachets of ‘shabu’ seized

Two police raids five hours apart in Pasig City on Friday night yielded a total of 90 sachets of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) from two drug suspects at Barangay Pinagbuhatan.

Reports to Senior Supt. Bernabe Balba, Eastern Police District (EPD) director, identified the suspects as Ana Lisa Paya, 53, and Ryan Vega, 35. Both were subjects of search warrants issued by Pasig City regional trial courts.

Paya, who reportedly worked as an on-call housekeeper, was arrested in her house on Quirino Street in Centennial II around 6 p.m. on Friday.

Gun, grenades seized

Seized from her were 74 sachets of shabu weighing around 38 grams and worth over P40,000, a .45-caliber handgun, several bullets and two 40MM rifle grenades.

Five hours later in the same barangay, Pasig City policemen arrested Vega in his house on Yumol Street in La Vista Ville.

Senior Supt. Rizalito Gapas, city police chief, said authorities recovered 16 sachets of suspected shabu from the suspect worth P2,300.
