1 dead, 3 hurt in Quezon road accident

LUCENA CITY – A woman died while three others were injured in a road accident in Tayabas City in Quezon province Wednesday, police said.

Quoting a spot report, Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director, said Giuseppe Aldrik Reyes was driving along the provincial road around 12:20 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, a Ford Ranger pick-up, while overtaking another vehicle in Barangay Mayuwi.

The wayward vehicle consequently slammed into a parked tricycle with driver Angelito Cabael and two passengers – Carl Joshua Cabael and Irene Manguerra – on board.

Police said Reyes and his three passengers sustained serious injuries and were taken to the Lucena Doctors Hospital.

Manguerra reportedly died while undergoing treatment at hospital. /ee
