Father, sons nabbed in PDEA anti-drug ops in S. Cotabato
KORONADAL CITY – Anti-narcotics agents arrested a 50-year-old father and his two sons during an anti-illegal drugs entrapment operation in Tampakan, South Cotabato over the weekend.
In a report, Director Naravy Duquitan, of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for Region 12 (PDEA-12), said Jaime Malinao Sr. was arrested after he handed over a sachet of shabu to an agent during the operation conducted around 3:45 p.m. Saturday in Barangay Maltana.
Also arrested during anti-illegal drug sting were his sons identified as Jaime Jr. and Mark.
Government operatives also seized P136,000 worth of shabu and drug paraphernalia from the suspects.
“The elder Malinao is a high value target of PDEA,” Duquitan said in a statement.
Duquitan said the elder Malinao was allegedly the source of illegal drugs in South Cotabato and Gen. Santos City based on statement of previously arrested drug users and peddlers.
The suspects would be facing charges in violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. They were being detained at PDEA-12 in Gen. Santos City. /kga
