Second alarm up on Marikina River; preemptive evacuation ordered
LOCAL authorities raised second alarm on Marikina River after its water level reached 16 meters on Friday, according to a report on radio dzBB.
It means preemptive evacuation is being forced in areas near the river, it said.
Metro Manila and nearby provinces experienced heavy rainfall on Friday because of the southwest monsoon (Habagat) enhanced by Tropical Storm “Inday,” according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
