Romeo denies involvement in Quezon City bar brawl
TNT KaTropa star player and Gilas Pilipinas member Terrence Romeo has denied involvement in a Quezon City bar brawl that happened early Thursday morning according to reports.
“I’m in my house right now. I’m not held up in any prison or station. No need to make a fuss. Watch the CCTV I believe it’s somewhere in social media right now. I didn’t do anything. Let the video speak for itself. Anyway both camps are okay naman na. Good night,” reads a post on Romeo’s official twitter account @tbvromeo.
In a report by DZMM radio, a woman identified as Clarissa Cabrera alleged that her husband was punched by one of Romeo’s companions that resulted in a brawl at the Guilly’s Bar in Tomas Morato Avenue in Quezon City. Cabrera, in the report, claimed that Romeo denied her allegation.
Romeo was with fellow cager Brian Heruela of San Miguel Beer during the incident.
The Quezon City Police District immediately released Romeo after the camp of Cabrera did not file a case.
Meanwhile, TNT coach Nash Racela said he and team manager Virgil Villavicencio have already talked to Romeo regarding the incident.
“The initial concern was the safety of those involved and based on reports they are all okay,” Racela told The Manila Times in a phone interview. “I’ve already talked to him and he said he is fine. Well one of my suggestions to them is just to avoid this kind of incident. If they can hold their party privately, like in their house, the better.”
Just last week, Romeo also figured out in a brawl between Gilas Pilipinas and the Australian team during the third window of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Asian qualifiers at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.
