Magnitude 4.3 quake hits Samar — Phivolcs

A MAGNITUDE 4.3 earthquake hit Samar on Sunday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The quake that struck at 1:02 p.m. was 47 kilometers (km) east of Catbalogan. It had a depth of 28 km and was tectonic in origin.

Intensity 4 was felt in Catbalogan, Eastern Samar while Intensity 2 was recorded in Palo, Leyte.

No major damage was reported and no aftershocks were expected, Phivolcs said. GLEE JALEA
