Emilians Bag Multiple Distinctions at the YMCA National Congress

Emilian delegates put on a stellar performance once again as they bagged distinctions from the 42nd Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) National Congress held at Teacher’s Camp, Baguio City last November 30- December 4, 2017.

Third year B.S. Radiologic Technology student, Rodel V. Pugasa, competed in the annual debate contest and successfully secured a spot in the finals. The debate that tackled the pros and cons of a revolutionary government.

Another third year B.S. Radiologic Technology student and The Magdalo staffer, Allen Kenjie Mendoza’s entry stood out from the rest in the Photography contest as he landed the 2nd place with his photo entitled Millenial Sun.

Completing the three-peat performance for EAC was Sheena Maria Yupano, who clinched the Y’ers Got Talent’s champion’s title in the Singing category. Yupano’s rendition of Samantha Barks’ On My Own gave EAC its third-straight title since 2015.

The Magdalo staffers also put their names in the list of distinction as they spearheaded the daily newsletter of the National Congress, Congress Balita. This marked EAC’s third consecutive year of managing the official newsletter for the annual event.

The 34-man delegate of EAC was part of the 540 delegates from 50 different schools and universities in the Philippines that attended the 42nd edition of YMCA National Congress.
