15 cops sacked

CAMP COLONEL RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Amid efforts of the Northeastern Mindanao Police Regional Office (PRO 13) to clean its ranks of scalawags, 15 police officers in Caraga region have been dismissed from the service, a top regional police official on Friday said.
The dismissed policemen were found guilty for grave misconduct, gross insubordination and grave neglect of duty.
Dismissed from the uniformed service were nine Police Officers 1 (PO1), five Police Officers 3 (PO3) and a non-uniformed personnel.
“Two of these dismissed policemen were tested positive for illegal drug use,” PRO 13 Regional Director Chief Supt. Noli A. Romana said.
He signed the approval for the dismissal of a non-uniformed personnel (NUP) for serious neglect of duty, after going AWOL. These dismissed policemen were recorded from Dec. 1, 2017 to June 14, 2018, he said.
