Rainfall alerts up over Metro Manila, parts of Luzon — Pagasa
METRO Manila and other areas in Luzon will continue to experience monsoon rains on Wednesday, the state-run weather bureau said.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), moderate to occasional heavy rains becayse of the southwest monsoon or “habagat” will prevail over Metro Manila, Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batangas, Babuyan Group of Islands, Cavite, Bataan and Zambales.
At 8 a.m., Pagasa issued an orange rainfall warning over Cavite, which means flooding is a possibility.
Yellow rainfall warning was raised over Metro Manila, Bataan, Zambales, and Batangas, which means flooding is possible in low lying areas.
Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains will affect Bulacan, Pampanga, Rizal and Laguna, which may persist within three hours.
Mimaropa, the rest of Cagayan Valley, of Calabarzon, and of Central Luzon will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms because of the southwest monsoon.
Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan make up Mimaropa while Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon make up Calabarzon.
Meanwhile, Bicol region, Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said. GLEE JALEA
