Former ARMM police chief assumes top post in Manila
THE new Manila Police District (MPD) Police Chief Rolando Anduyan formally assumed office today, Tuesday.
Anduyan, from the Police Regional Office of the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), replaced Chief Supt. Joel Napolceon.
Anduyan was cited for his rescue of a priest captured by the IS-inspired Maute group during the Marawi siege in 2017.
Anduyan was one of 700 police officers who were promoted in line with PNP Chief Director Oscar Albayalde’s directive on June 1 and one of 27 who underwent a “shuffling” of positions. KIM MALAIT
