Sam Pinto, family extend stay in Japan as Anthony Semerad recovers from dengue
Sam Pinto said their family has extended their stay in Japan as her husband Anthony Semerad still has low platelets due to dengue, noting risks of internal bleeding.
The actress gave an update on Semerad’s condition through her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
Semerad was earlier diagnosed with dengue just days into their vacation in Japan. Pinto noted that the former got the illness while they were still in Manila.
“Suppose to fly back to Manila tomorrow, but [his] platelets are still very low, and scary to fly [because it] might cause internal bleeding. Extending our stay until he’s better,” she said.
Pinto and Semerad are with their four-year-old daughter Mia during the trip.

Semerad got tested for COVID-19 and influenza, which both turned out negative. However, his condition worsened. He was then admitted to a medical facility, and the doctors later confirmed that he has been suffering from dengue fever.
Pinto and Semerad married in an intimate ceremony in March 2021, then welcomed Mia the following September.
