Tiangco: No plans to replace Sen. Imee in admin’s Senate slate
MANILA, Philippines – With just three days away before the campaign period for national posts begins, the administration’s senatorial slate will not drop reelectionist Sen. Imee Marcos.
This is what Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco said when he was asked if the administration slate will replace Marcos.
“Definitely no plans to replace Senator Imee. Definitely. That’s 100 percent. She’s part of the Alyansa candidates,” Tiangco said during a meeting for the campaign season.
Tiangco was chosen by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as the slate’s campaign manager.
Further, when asked if the older Marcos will attend the slate’s campaign rallies, Tiangco said to anticipate her participation.

“‘Di naman ako spokesperson ni Imee eh, so mas mabuti abangan niyo na lang, para mas exciting para sa lahat,” Tiangco added.

Last September, the president revealed the 12 senatorial aspirants he endorses for the 2025 elections, including his older sister Imee. They are members of the newly-formed political coalition “Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas.”
However, just a few days after the endorsement, Imee said that she was withdrawing from the Senate slate. She said that she wanted to stand alone and to shield her brother from any difficult situation.

Tiangco also shared that slate committed to attending 21 campaign rallies across the country. President Marcos is expected to join the slate at its kick-off rally on Tuesday, February 11, in Laoag, Ilocos Norte.
