QC issues Thursday traffic advisory due to La Naval

MANILA, Philippines — Motorists may experience heavy traffic in some parts of Quezon City on October 10 due to the “Recorrido” of the image of La Naval De Manila.

Recorrido refers to the complete route of a procession.

In an advisory on Wednesday, the city government said the traffic is expected from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The procession will begin from the Cathedral Shrine of the Good Shepherd (District 5) to St. Peter Parish: Shrine of Leaders (District 2).

The local government of Quezon City advised motorists to take alternative routes.

  • Lilac Street
  • Orchid Street
  • Chestnut Street
  • Dahlia Avenue
  • Walnut Street
  • Maple Street
  • Engineer Street

  • N. Labayani Street
  • Commonwealth Avenue
  • Commonwealth Ave. to Diliman Preparatory School

The procession will feature a centuries-old statue of the Virgin, known as La Naval.

La Naval de Manila commemorates the victory of the Spanish-Philippine defenders over the Protestant Dutch invaders in the 17th century.
