Gilas Women sweep U18 Seaba Qualifiers with rout of Indonesia

Gilas Pilipinas rolled up its sleeves in the middle two quarters to crush Indonesia, 73-37, and sweep the Fiba U18 Women’s Asia Cup Seaba Qualifiers in Thailand.

Saddled by a sluggish start, the Philippines rediscovered its zest in the second period and then raced to a 37-22 lead heading into the intermission of the clash at Ratchaburi Gymnasium.

The Julie Amos-mentored squad came out an even relentless bunch in the next frame, keeping the Indonesians to just four points in the third period which pretty much sealed the Filipinos’ return to the Division B’s main draw that will be staged in Shenzen, China, this coming June.
