Letran Knights tap Allen Ricardo as interim coach

MANILA, Philippines—Letran is looking to start fresh after a forgettable men’s basketball tournament run in NCAA Season 99.

On Friday, the Knights named Allen Ricardo as the squad’s interim coach, replacing coach Rensy Bajar at the helm.

The announcement was made official by the school on its Facebook page.

Ricardo steered the Squires on the way to the Season 98 juniors’ championship and will now look to do the same with Letran’s senior’s squad.

Currently, Ricardo is calling the shots for the Squires in the ongoing Season 99 juniors’ basketball tournament but he will temporarily coach the Knights as well  later this year for Season 100.

Bajar was replaced at helm for Letran after registering a 2-16 record—a school worst.

During that struggle, the Squires in contrast registered an 11-1 record in the juniors’ division with Ricardo coaching the talents of George Diamante, Jonathan Manalili and Andy Gemao.
