Scores of people remain isolated due to flooding in Northern Samar
MANILA, Philippines — Around 2,000 to 3,000 people are still isolated in the Northern Samar floods, according to a provincial official on Monday.
Asked at the Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon public briefing how many were still isolated, Northern Samar Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office head Josh Echano said that it was five to 10 barangays.
“It is just around five to 10 barangays na lang and by population siguro mga two to 3,000 na lang sila. And the Armed Forces stationed in our area has already facilitated the immediate relief operations of these barangays ‘no through chopper,” said Echano.

Echano said that food is being brought to these families through helicopters.
Northern Samar was hammered by relentless rains caused by the shear line and the low pressure area, causing widespread flooding.
