MANILA, Philippines — Two Filipinos were found dead inside a cargo container in Bangkok, Thailand.
The 200-foot shipping container came from the Philippines and arrived at the Laem Chabang port in the province of Chon Buri on Sept. 28 before it was transported by train to a warehouse in Lad Krabang in Bangkok on Oct. 2.
Thai news agencies Bangkok Post and Khaosod reported that the decaying bodies belonged to a man and a woman, and authorities “discovered a black t-shirt nearby” that read “Alpha Kappa Rho, Vincit Omnia Veritas,” suspected to be a fraternity name and motto.
The container was owned by Evergreen Marine Corp.
The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) confirmed the reports, adding that the container came “from a port in Manila,” according to South Harbor Port acting manager Catherine Esto.
In an interview over radio dzBB yesterday, Esto said the PPA would get in touch with the Bureau of Customs to get additional information.
