PVL: PLDT taps Filipino-Canadian Savannah Davison
MANILA, Philippines—PLDT is still stinging from the loss of Jovy Prado due to an ACL injury but the High Speed Hitters are making up for it with the recruitment of Filipino-Canadian Savannah Davison.
In a post made by the squad on Wednesday evening, PLDT confirmed that it has secured the commitment of the five-foot-nine outside spiker to fill the void left by Prado for the Premier Volleyball League’s third conference.
For Davison, being able to play in the Philippines is something she’s looking forward to, stating that she wants to experience the country’s love for the volleyball scene.
“Something I look forward to this conference is to see the competition. I’ve heard so much about volleyball in the Philippines and I can’t wait to experience it,” said Davison.
“I’m also excited to see how far our PLDT team can go this conference. I feel like we have a good chance this year.”
Davison played in Division 1 of the US NCAA and also played for both the University of Oklahoma and New Mexico State University.
The High Speed Hitters, meanwhile, are also ecstatic with the signing of the promising spiker, calling her as the “perfect addition” to the team.
“We found Filipino-Canadian Savannah Davison as the perfect addition to the PLDT team. Athletic, smart, and fun, she is someone we can’t wait for you to witness,” a part of PLDT’s statement said.
Davison will share the teraflex with stars Rhea Dimaculangan, Mika Reyes, Kath Arado, Dell Palomata and Mean Mendrez.
PLDT will kickstart its All-Filipino Conference campaign next week, Saturday, at Araneta Coliseum when it faces sister team Cignal HD Spikers.
