Gary Valenciano recovering after pneumonia diagnosis
Gary Valenciano’s wife, Angeli Pangilinan, revealed that they recently “went on red alert” after the singer-TV host was diagnosed with pneumonia while on his concert tour in the United States.
Pangilinan apologized to fans and asked for their understanding as she disclosed Valenciano’s condition through her Facebook page on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
“…Please allow me to apologize if the tickets for the repeat of the Music Museum series are still on hold. What happened is that, from being super healthy, Gary caught a bug, and we couldn’t determine what he had until he had certain medical tests done here in the USA,” she said.
“The findings were pneumonia, so we went on red alert. We had to decide whether to continue with the US concerts and the shows in October as scheduled or to postpone them,” she continued.
Pangilinan, who revealed that she and their tour director had recently contracted and recovered from COVID-19, further requested for “little more patience” and assured fans that she and the concert team have been addressing the ticketing concerns.
“We held off on releasing whatever was left from all the reservations and from the waitlist of the last series, waiting to see if Gary’s health would improve. And it did! Thank God! He’s slowly recovering!” Pangilinan declared.
“Thank you for understanding. God bless Gary!” she concluded.
Concerned friends and netizens immediately extended their prayers and well-wishes for the speedy recovery of Valenciano, as well as for Pangilinan’s health.
Valenciano is set to stage five more shows in the US and Canada, then four shows in Manila in October and November. /ra
