Sara meets with Qatar, Nigeria envoys

MANILA, Philippines — Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte has discussed possible collaborations in the education sector during her recent meeting with the ambassadors of Nigeria and Qatar.
Ambassadors Folakemi Ibidunni Akinleye of Nigeria and Ahmed Saad Al Homidi of Qatar made separate courtesy calls on Duterte at her office in Mandaluyong City on Aug. 11.
During her meeting with Akinleye, Duterte expressed gratitude to the Nigerian government for taking care of Filipinos, especially seafarers, in their country.
The Nigerian envoy, in turn, thanked the Vice President for her support to the 1st Nigeria-Philippines Business Forum and 1st Nigeria-Philippines Women in Leadership Summit last year.
According to the OVP, they discussed possible collaborations in the field of education.
Meanwhile, Duterte thanked the Qatari government for collaborating with the OVP and the Department of Education.
The Qatar embassy earlier distributed school supplies and FIFA World Cup souvenirs to selected school children.
Qatar hosted the FIFA World Cup last year, the first to be held in an Arab country.
