TYKFI-led CSR Council supports BIDA campaign
MANILA, Philippines — Dr. Lucio Tan, chairman and president of Tan Yan Kee Foundation Inc. (TYKFI), announced that the LT Group of Companies continues to be actively involved in public sector projects that contribute to the general well-being of our fellow countrymen.
Actively involved in the projects are about 30 members of the LT CSR Council composed of corporate social responsibility (CSR) executives of the Group who have synergized their corporate efforts in extending assistance to the community.
The LT CSR Council recently attended the relaunch of the Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) anti-drug campaign of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) at the Richmonde Hotel in Quezon City, with First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos as guest of honor.
Representatives of the Group were executives of seven sister companies who each signed a Memorandum of Understanding with DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos.
These companies are Philippine Airlines, Eton Properties (Phils.) Inc., University of the East, UERM Memorial Medical Center, Philippine National Bank, TYKFI and Tanduay Distillers Inc.
Kyle Tan, president and chief executive officer of Eton Properties (Phils.) Inc., spoke on behalf of the Group and gave a statement on the commitment of the companies to actively implement their specific pledges of support to the BIDA campaign.
Major CSR programs of the Group include the Dr. Lucio C. Tan Legacy Forest Project that helps protect the forests and improve biodiversity as well as projects in agroforestry, mangrove rehabilitation, scholarship programs in business, sciences, law, medicine, agriculture and forestry, Hope Caravan, financial literacy, livelihood assistance and training, social welfare and health care.
