Cesar’s Mother’s Day lunch with Sunshine and Kath
BFF Buboy (Cesar Montano) spent Mother’s Day with Kath Angeles and Sunshine Cruz, the two “hot mamas” of his kids. They had lunch at a Japanese restaurant in Molito. When Shine and BFF were still together, she used to say in jest, “‘Di ako ipagpapalit ni Buboy, magdadagdag lang s’ya.”
Fast forward to today. Who would have thought that Shine and BFF’s girlfriend Kath would become friends? I teased BFF, “So, will you also invite Sandra Seifert (mom of his son Coco) and Teresa Loyzaga (mom of his son Diego) to your next blended family gathering?”
He shot back laughing, “Kumbaga sa movie, complete casting!” Then, I kidded him, “If it were a movie, the title would be ‘To All the Girls I Loved Before.’”
That totally cracked BFF up.
How Matteo feels being a Kapuso
Matteo Guidicelli is “G na G” for his GMA Public Affairs journey as a Kapuso. He’s now one of the hosts of “Unang Hirit” (UH) and is set to star in an action series with Ruru Madrid called “Black Rider.” Matteo will also do special documentaries on nature.
Aside from being an actor/host, Matteo is an explorer, triathlete, nature lover, Scout Ranger and Presidential Security Group reservist. What a complete package! Matteo really matters.
Here are quotes from Matteo:
“Just like in love, good things come to those who wait. Life takes you to a place where you find a new purpose. That’s how I feel about being a Kapuso.
“When I joined the Army five years ago, I did a documentary about my training. That ignited my passion to tell the stories of other people. It’s no longer about me all the time.
“Sarah (Geronimo, his wife) said that bagay ako sa public affairs because of my background as a Scout Ranger. I have so much to bring to the table.
“I’m a morning person, so joining UH excites me. If and when Sarah and I have a baby and mapupuyat kami taking care of him or her, I will still be game to wake up early for my morning show.
“We never can tell if Sarah will follow suit and be a Kapuso. After all, she started in GMA.
“I don’t burn my bridges. All these years, I’ve kept in touch with the people I worked with in GMA during my stint in ‘SOP.’ I nurture relationships.”
From fantasy to nightmare
The riveting erotic crime movie “Sandwich” (now streaming on VivaMax) is a creation of no less than Brillante Mendoza. Directed by Jao Daniel Elamparo, it revolves around a couple who makes their fantasies come true, but goes through a nightmare after.
Topbilled by Nico Locco, Luke Selby, Andrea Garcia and Kat Dovey, the film takes voyeurism and ménage-à-trois to another dimension. “Sandwich” will satisfy your cravings.
Here are quotes from Nico (N), Kat (K), Luke (L) and Andrea (A):
N: I did not recognize who I was anymore while I portrayed the bad guy in our movie. That’s how I know I did well.
K: This film is more of everything than what I’ve done before. It’s bolder and emotionally draining.
L: This is the last sexy film I will do, so I gave it my all. I will shift to other genres because I want to grow as an artist.
A: If I were a sandwich, I would be a Nutella because you can’t have enough of it.
N: In real life, I’m willing to share my clothes, car and money, but not my girl. Threesome is a no-no for me.
K: The no-script formula of Direk Brillante made our scenes more realistic and natural.
L: Our film will take you back to prelockdown days in 2020, when we were all anxious. The dialogue is mainly English to give it a different flavor.
A: I was raised to be open-minded. So, as long as it’s safe, I’m willing to try anything in bed.
Out of Jake’s comfort zone
To combat bad trip, have a laugh trip by watching TV5’s new sitcom, “Jack & Jill sa Diamond Hills” (Sundays at 6 p.m.), featuring the dynamic duo of Jake Cuenca and Sue Ramirez.
Helmed by John Lapus, it delves into the adventures and misadventures of undercover police officers, portrayed by Jake and Sue. Their mission is to apprehend the elusive “Alias Sexbomb,” who has been distributing a drug called “Happy P.” Let the sitcom turn you into a “happyholic.”
Here are quotes from Jake (J), Sue (S) and John (JL):
J: Comedy is not my comfort zone, so I let Sue lead the way. Among all the roles Sue and I played, this one is close to our personalities so we can be more of ourselves.
S: It’s my third project with Jake. But even if we worked together before, the dynamics of our characters are different now.
JL: I don’t get mad on the set. As an actor, I know what it’s like when a director is “matalak.” The negativity rubs off on the cast. I want the actors to follow me out of respect and not out of fear.
J: I’m old-school. I come from a time when the big stars had sitcoms. So, having my own sitcom is a turning point in my career.
S: Our sitcom is not a spinoff of Sharon Cuneta and Herbert Bautista’s movie. But since the title is associated with them, the pressure is there.
