B.League: Matthew Wright 25-point outing spoiled by Kyoto loss

MANILA, Philippines—Matthew Wright’s stellar outing was put to waste in Kyoto Hannaryz’s 78-73 loss against the Akita Northern Happinets in the Japan B.League at Kyoto Prefecture on Saturday.

Wright turned in a 25-point performance to go along with four assists and four rebounds but Kyoto still fell due to Akita’s balanced scoring.

Five players scored in double digits for the Northern Happinets with Sota Oura leading the way with 17 points built from five triples.

Kai Sotto also could not notch a victory as the Hiroshima Dragonflies fell against the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins, 91-88, at Dolphins Arena.

The younger Ravena had a more forgettable night than Kiefer finishing with only five markers, three assists and two boards.

COLD NIGHT FOR DWIGHT

Keeping up with the trend of unlucky Filipino imports, Levanga Hokkaido and Dwight Ramos fell victim to the Chiba Jets, 96-71, at Funabishi Arena.

Ramos had a cold-shooting night as a starter, finishing with nine markers, sinking only three of his 15 tries from the field in the loss.
