Mimaropa police beef up security for Holy Week

All police units in Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan (Mimaropa) were directed to intensify security measures for a safe and secure Holy Week.

CITY OF CALAPAN – All police units in Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan (Mimaropa) were directed to intensify security measures for a safe and secure Holy Week.

In a statement on Sunday (April 2), Brig. Gen. Joel Bargamento Doria, regional director, said more than 1,000 policemen in the region were ordered to secure vital installations, tourist destinations, transportation hubs, churches and places of pilgrimage during this period.

Doria said police assistance desks will be maintained in strategic areas regionwide.

“We have not monitored any threats. But nonetheless, the public can expect that we are always on alert and ready to respond to any situation,” he said.

Doria reminded the public to refrain from posting their itineraries on social media so that the criminals “will never have the opportunity to commit crimes during their travel or vacation where their homes are left unattended.”

“Ask force multipliers in our village to check your house from time to time,” said Doria. INQ
