Yoo Ah-in also tests positive for cocaine, ketamine — reports
South Korean actor Yoo Ah-in’s alleged illegal drug woes continue to pile up as he reportedly tested positive for cocaine and ketamine on Wednesday, March 1.
Authorities reported that a sample of Ah-in’s hair tested positive for cocaine and ketamine, however, his agency United Artists Agency (UAA) has yet to issue a statement about the findings, according to Korean media outlet News 9 via entertainment platform Soompi.
Following the findings, the Korean police are currently investigating the actor’s ketamine prescription records to check if the drug was used “habitually.” The report also added that the “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” star will be called in for another round of questioning around the next week.
Ah-in’s findings came after a month he tested positive for marijuana and propofol. Since 2011, the latter drug, used as a sedative for anesthesia, has been noted as a psychotropic drug under South Korea’s Narcotics Control Act.
In 2017, Ah-in was diagnosed with a bone tumor but it was reported to be a benign condition.
The 36-year-old actor appeared in several popular K-dramas including “Hellbound,” “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” and “Fashion King,” among many others and gained acclaim after portraying the role of Lee Jong-su in the 2018 film “Burning.” EDV
