ITCZ to bring scattered rains in parts of Luzon, Visayas
MANILA, Philippines — Overcast skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will prevail in parts of Luzon and Visayas on Saturday due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), according to the state weather bureau.
In its early morning forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services (Pagasa) said residents of Eastern Visayas, Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, and Masbate should stay alert for possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rainfall.
While the ITCZ continues to affect several areas of the country, Pagasa weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin assured that no tropical cyclone is expected inside the Philippine area of responsibility in the next three days.
Clear and calm weather conditions, on the other hand, are forecasted in the rest of the country, but the state weather bureau noted that sporadic rains and thunderstorms are still likely to come in the latter parts of the day.
“Wala masyadong kaulapan kaya magandang panahon pa rin ang mararanasan natin. Medyo mainit nga lang at maaraw and then, iyong mga pag-ulan, asahan lamang natin ‘yan lalo na pagdating ng hapon at gabi,” Bulquerin stressed.
(There’s not much cloud clusters being monitored, so expect warm and sunny weather throughout the day. Isolated rains, however, may still be experienced especially in the afternoon and evening.)
Meanwhile, Pagasa listed the temperature range in key cities and areas across the archipelago on Saturday:
Metro Manila — 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
