PH to still sizzle despite chances of isolated rain on Thursday, says Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Hot and humid weather conditions will continue to prevail throughout the country on Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said, even if the occurrence of isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening is likely.

“Inaasahan pa rin natin ang mainit at maalinsangang panahon na may tiyansa ng mga isolated or localized thunderstorms dito sa Luzon, including Metro Manila,” said Pagasa weather specialist Raymond Ordinario.

The same weather situation will be experienced in Visayas and Mindanao, but Ordinario warned that isolated rain showers will be more common in parts of Mindanao due to localized thunderstorms.

Ordinario also said no storms or low-pressure areas are expected to enter or form within the country’s area of responsibility in the next three to five days.

Meanwhile, Pagasa issued the following forecast temperature range for Thursday, March 24, in key cities/areas across the country:

  • Metro Manila: 24 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Baguio City: 16 to 25 degrees Celsius
  • Laoag City:  25 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Tuguegarao: 25 to 35 degrees Celsius
  • Legazpi City: 27 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Puerto Princesa City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Tagaytay: 21 to 32 degrees Celsius

  • Cagayan De Oro City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Zamboanga City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius

Pagasa did not raise any gale warning at this time as only slight to moderate sea conditions are predicted throughout the country’s seaboards and in-land seas.

“Kaya’t malayang makakapalaot ang ating mga kababayang mangingisda at may mga maliliit na sasakyang pandagat,” said Ordinario.
