I can only assume that Pete McMartin seldom takes the bus, given his excoriating column about them. I can only give my story. I commuted to work from Ladner to downtown Vancouver by transit every day for 30 years. Now that I am retired, I still take the bus. My regular trip is to go visit my mother in North Vancouver (from Ladner) once a week. I take transit because the drive through Vancouver is a nightmare. Unlike Mr. McMartin, I like the bus. It is reasonably comfortable, I get to witness some goofy people at times, but that’s okay because it’s entertainment, and I can read. I get through a lot of books on the bus, which is not something you can do in a car. Read More
