SCNext Top 25: The best high school girls’ basketball teams

Westlake (Georgia) ran the table last year and brought home the Geico Nationals championship. Graduation and transfers make a repeat highly unlikely.

Several teams are either putting the polishing touches on their 2021-22 seasons or pursuing postseason championships.

Classen (Oklahoma) had a huge 58-56 comeback win against in-state Edmond North. Baylor signee and McDonald’s All-American Darianna Littlepage-Buggs had 21 points and 16 rebounds, while point guard and Stephen F. Austin signee Jordan Harrison’s late-game heroics capped a 12-point, five-assist performance.

In a battle of top-five teams, Sidwell Friends (D.C.) defeated St. John Vianney (New Jersey) 73-58. Jadyn Donovan, a five-star junior, led Sidwell with 21 points while Princeton signee Madison St. Rose scored 26 for Vianney.

Noblesville (Indiana) defeated Crown Point to advance to the 4A state championship game thanks to 23 points by UConn 2023 commit Ashlynn Shade. Purdue 2023 commit Rashunda Jones helped South Bend Washington advance to the 3A state championship game as well.

Hazel Green (Alabama) and Woodward Academy (Georgia) are closing in on state championships.
