New hospital inaugurated in Parañaque

During the ribbon cutting, Mayor Olivarez was accompanied by Rep. Eric Olivarez, Janet Olivarez, Vice Mayor Rico Golez, San Dionisio Brgy. Capt. and former mayor Dr. Pablo Olivarez, Ospar 1 and 2 Director Niel Orteza, PIO chief Mar Jimenez, Councilor Tess de Asis, Don Bosco Brgy. Capt. Chona Navarro and Councilor Binky Favis. Also in attendance were city councilors and barangay captains from Districts 1 and 2 as well as several city government officials led by Dr. Olga Vertusio of the City Health Office.

BY opening the Ospital ng Parañaque (Ospar 2) in Barangay (Village) Don Boaco on February 12, Parañaque City bolstered its healthcare services. Mayor Edwin Olivarez led the blessing and ribbon cutting of the newly built, 4-storey hospital, ideally situated on a 2000-sqm. lot between Barangay Don Bosco and Barangay Moonwalk.

Mar Jimenez, the Public Information Office chief, disclosed the city has spent P665 million to construct the 150-bed hospital. It was built primarily to provide accessible and convenient healthcare for District 2 and take on patients from the overcrowded Ospar 1 in Barangay La Huerta.

Ospar 2 has nine spacious rooms on each floor that are well equipped with ultramodern apparatus consisting of diagnostic test equipment, x-ray machine and ultrasound, said Jimenez. He added that Ospar 2 has adequate medicines and essential medical supplies to meet the needs of patients free of charge.
