Around 100 pipeline protesters blocked East Hastings Street on Tuesday afternoon, temporarily closing the route to traffic.

The demonstration began a little after 2 p.m. Vancouver police issued a traffic advisory, warning that westbound traffic had been impacted. The street was reopened to traffic at around 4:45 p.m.

#VanTraffic: Hastings Street is now open in both directions.

The protest is in solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs in their objection to the Coastal GasLink pipeline across northern B.C.

Earlier today, more than a dozen anti-pipeline protesters blocked the driveway of B.C. Premier John Horgan’s Victoria-area home. Two people were arrested at the scene.
